The Dirty Bubble

He is a bubble gone bad... which is why he's dirty I assume. He has the power to trap people inside himself with his amazing surface tension, but his weakness is anything sharp.

Eugene Herbert Victor Krabs (or simply Mr. Krabs) is a fictional character, voiced by Clancy Brown, on the Nickelodeon TV series SpongeBob SquarePants.

Krabs is the penny-pinching owner of The Krusty Krab, a fast food restaurant in Bikini Bottom that employs SpongeBob and Squidward Tentacles. In contrast to his namesake, Krabs is something of a miser. However, he is not heartless—he cares about SpongeBob SquarePants (who keeps his restaurant afloat), dotes on his daughter Pearl Krabs, and in one episode, he found his second love (after money) in Mrs. Puff. Mr. Krabs' arch-rival is Sheldon J. Plankton, the owner of rival restaurant The Chum Bucket across the street from his establishment. He has a mother, Momma Krabs, who lives in a near identical version of his anchor home, except it is pink. Krabs' birthday, revealed on his driver's license in the episode "Sleepy Time", is November 30, 1942. He also served in the Navy, where he earned the nickname "Armor Abs Krabs".

Eugene's father, Viktor Krabs, was a poor Ukrainian immigrant from whom young Eugene learned the importance of saving money. In the episode "Krusty Krab Training Video", we learn that Viktor gave his son a nickel which he has cherished and brought him a deep love for money. He learned the importance of saving money. However, after losing all of his savings in a failed investment, Mr. Krabs wound up working as the janitor on the S.S. Gourmet, gazing longingly at the elegant meals the chefs cooked. So Krabs didn't see anything special when a broken passenger from third class named Biff Quahog told him about a delicious burger he had created. Krabs stole the treasure from Quahog's room, discovered it was only a message in a bottle, and threw it, with disgust, into an empty shoe box. After coming home from the war, he remained in a deep depression until one day, while looking for his father's will, he found the old shoe box. Inside the bottle was a recipe labelled Quahog Burger. When Krabs cooked it, he found it delectable. He decided to go into business selling it, and built his restaurant by renovating the local (failing) retirement home, "The Rusty Krab," which he decided to turn into a restaurant and added a K to the name. It's possible that he is a descendant of the krabs from the prehistoric times who say "Money!". Some believe that this is not true because Mr. Krab's descent is from Ukraine. This is controdicted by the Tectonic Plates Theory.

The Krusty Krab has come close to going out of business with such rival restaurants as the aforementioned Chum Bucket, Pretty Patties, and The Shell Shack to name but three. The building is also in serious disrepair, as its walls ooze green slime and has seriously faulty wiring. Mr. Krabs idea of renovations is simply putting band-aids on cracks in the walls (this unfortunately doesn't work too well).

In the movie, he now owns The Krusty Krab 2, right next to the original burger stand, where SpongeBob SquarePants is the manager. (Ironically, besides the title, it is not much different from his old job.)

He appears in Lights, Camera, PANTS! In the PC version, in his office in the Krusty Krab, he can't count his money anymore and a doctor is helping. So SpongeBob SquarePants used the Golden Spatula to make the Royal Krabby Patty. Krabs eats it and now can count money. His role in the special episode of "The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy" is a news reporter.

Gary The Snail

Gary the Snail is a character in the Nickelodeon animated series series SpongeBob SquarePants, which first aired in July 1999. Gary is Spongebob's pet snail, although his behaviour in several aspects resembles a housecat.

Gary is an intelligent, fully domesticated, sea snail born in Bikini Bottom. His intelligence shines through in the fact that he generally has much smarter solutions to SpongeBob's dilemmas than SpongeBob does. Gary tends to disagree with some of SpongeBob's ideas, and usually makes an effort to warn SpongeBob. Some of Gary's meows are lower pitched, some are higher pitched; these could possibly indicate that Gary uses different tones of his voice to communicate with SpongeBob SquarePants. Gary loves pretending to be Squidward, playing music, reading books, and eating Snail-Po Snail Food, enjoys famous literature such as selected works by Emily Dickinson, and is an accomplished snail-poet himself. He has his own bed, exercise wheel, and water and food bowls, and expects his food bowl to always be full. He also knows how to play the violin, as revealed in the episode Something Smells. It is also noted that Gary can tie his shoes. SpongeBob SquarePants consistently mentions throughout the series that Gary pays a majority of the bills, if not all. Gary the Snail is inquisitive, curious, and always ready to learn something new. Gary serves SpongeBob his toast and jelly, every time he goes to work in the morning, and also serves him coffee. It also seems that he sometimes answers the phone for SpongeBob SquarePants as hinted at in Jellyfish Hunter.

Squidward Johannsen Tentacles is a fictional character in the animated cartoon television show SpongeBob SquarePants. He is an octopus (and also a "sourpus") and has 6 tentacles. He uses two of them as arms and the other four as legs. Stephen Hillenburg, creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, says Squidward is a rare type of octopus that only have 6 legs and are blue-green, although he also said 8 tentacles looked bulky so he could've chosen that type of octopus. Squidward is believed to be born on October 23, 1975. The character is voiced by Rodger Bumpass.

Squidward Residence

Squidward lives in the Easter Island moai house between SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick. Despite his wish for peace and quiet, his two neighbors, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick make it nearly impossible, due to their high level of childish immaturity and silliness.

Squidward Occupation

Squidward works as the cashier at the Krusty Krab restaurant, along with SpongeBob SquarePants. Generally, he despises his job and loves the thought of getting fired, though he only attempts to quit in one episode. He doesn't take his work very seriously, being the exact opposite of SpongeBob SquarePants. In "Just One Bite", Squidward was revealed to never have eaten a Krabby Patty. He insists that they are disgusting, but after trying a bite of one, he falls in love with it.

Squidward's Neighbors

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick always encourage Squidward to participate in their games, but this only annoys him. In particular, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick often ask him to go jellyfishing with them. While seemingly the eternal pessimist, he occasionally tries to be like SpongeBob SquarePants (often with hopes that doing so will stop SpongeBob SquarePants from bugging him), but does not ever get the hang of it. In one episode, however he finds himself putting a piece of paper on his nose and dancing a jig in insanity. When SpongeBob SquarePants isn't looking, Squidward will start to act more like SpongeBob SquarePants from time to time, especially in the earlier episodes like Bubblestand and The Paper. Squidward's voice reveals a lot about his persona and attitude, much like SpongeBob's voice. In one episode, Selling Out, he is forced to keep a smile glued to his face by the manager of Krabby O' Mondays which creates an interesting effect, as Squidward hardly ever smiles while showing his teeth.

Squidward's Annoyance

Squidward finds SpongeBob SquarePants a complete annoyance. He tends to let everyone annoy him, especially those who want to be his friend, although at many times his fear of the loud and overbearing SpongeBob is quite justified. His best friend is his clarinet, whose name is Clary. One of Squidward's greatest dreams and desires is to either have hair or to buy a wig. He seems to think he would look good with hair. Aside from musical talents, he enjoys painting several pictures of himself and hanging them up around his house. There are new paintings in his house in almost every episode, constantly changing and almost never the same.

Tentacle Acres

In one episode, he sees an ad on TV about a town called Tentacle Acres, also known as Squidville, where millions of squids live in Easter island heads just like him. He decides to move there, and for a while things are spectacular. Eventually, though, he starts to miss SpongeBob's reef blower games and the city of Bikini Bottom. In Tentacle Acres, daily life is all one big routine that Squidward tires of after a week or so. He begins to wreak havoc throughout the overly structured civilization of Tentacle Acres with a reef blower. Angry citizens corner him in an alleyway and demand that he leave. Instead of obeying their wishes, he launches himself into the air via reef blower, screaming, "Woohoo! FREEDOM!".

Squidward Rivalry

His rival is Squilliam Fancyson, from Band Class, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Squidward, but wears a robe and has a unibrow. Squilliam is a wealthy six-legged octopus, usually with many admirers following his presence. He constantly shows up to make fun of Squidward, however Squidward makes a jerk out of Squilliam when his ragtag band plays for the Bubble Bowl and turns out to be much better than he ever expected.

Squidward's Character

Squidward's character could be read as one who represents adults, while characters like SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick represent children, the target audience for the program. Squidward seems to have had high hopes for his life, and seems to hold himself to very adult standards (he keeps his home clean, cultivates a taste for "mature" things, craves peace and quiet), and the silliness of his neighbors annoys him greatly. His obsessions with greatness and failure seem to peg him as a grownup: in one episode, he's spotted trudging to a cemetery to lay flowers at a headstone that reads, "Here Lies Squidward's Hopes and Dreams." Secretly, however, he seems to yearn to "cut loose", but won't admit it. Although he is secretly scared of human resources (henchman), he also hates SpongeBob's crying more than his laughing, and in one episode laughed like SpongeBob because he broke his own laugh box.

Squidward Leisure

An avid patron of the arts, Squidward has a strong affection for interpretive dance, sculpture, painting, and playing the clarinet, but shows no significant talent for any of them. He has often tried to impress the public with his artistic exhibitions, but is always either unrecognized, mocked by his audience, or upstaged by SpongeBob. Squidward always wants to be the center of attention but rarely ever is.

He has tried several things to reach the fame he desires: hosting a talent show, starting his own astrology spin-off, forming a band, and so on, yet he can't seem to get much of a cult following (with the exception of SpongeBob SquarePants, who really looks up to Squidward) Mr. Krabs and Patrick also seem to like him, though it may be argued that Mr. Krabs only likes Squidward because of his allegiance with the Krusty Krab. Squidward considers himself the greatest and most unrecognized clarinet player of all time, though most undersea life that hear him play will argue that he is horrible. His clarinet playing often gets him into trouble.

Sandy Cheeks

Sandra Sandy Squirrel Cheeks is a fictional animated character in the Nickelodeon animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants. Sandy is voiced by Carolyn Lawrence.

Sandy is a very talented and athletic squirrel born in the state of Texas on May 21, 1984, who moved to Bikini Bottom in the South Pacific Ocean underneath Bikini Atoll, for as yet unrevealed reasons. She lives in an air-filled habitat structure called the "Treedome" (a plexiglass dome containing a tree, living quarters and various other land plants). When outside of the Treedome, Sandy wears an air-filled diving outfit that looks much like an astronaut's suit; while in her Treedome, she wears a purple bikini with a purple skirt-like ring around her middle and with green underneath. Physically, Sandy is one of the strongest creatures (along with Larry Lobster) in Bikini Bottom. She claims to be stronger than Larry, and the strongest one in Bikini Bottom and she can even pull down gigantic ships and boats from the surface of the ocean as seen in Sandy, Spongebob and the Worm.

Sandy's interests include her native state of Texas, acorns, karate, various forms of athletics, pecan pies, fly fishing and science. Related to the latter, Sandy is an esteemed squirrel scientist, and has built her own rocket ship. She's even gone to the moon, but unlike SpongeBob SquarePants, does not believe in moon creatures. Recently, Sandy also has taken (and got carried away with) explosive special effects in filmmaking.

Sandy also has a large variety of pets, including caterpillars, snakes, crickets, mice, and birds, among others. A caterpillar named Wormy she owned once caused a riot among the citizens of Bikini Bottom, after it transformed into a butterfly and escaped her Treedome.

Sandy is a good friend of the sea sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, and enjoys various activities with him (including karate). Sandy introduced to SpongeBob SquarePants (and the other citizens of Bikini Bottom) the holiday of Christmas.

Sandy is somewhat sensitive about her minority status as an air-breathing land creature (the only other air-breathing animals seen in the series are whales). She's very friendly and has an upbeat and positive attitude, but can be very fierce when angered. Sandy is an avowed Texas partisan, and speaks with a strong southern accent (although whether her accent is genuinely "Texan" is debatable); she takes strong offense at any negative comments about Texas. The Sandy Cheeks character is a grand example for the blending of cultures.

Patrick Richard Star is a fictional character, voiced by Bill Fagerbakke, in the Nickelodeon TV cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. He is about the same age as SpongeBob SquarePants, and is a plump, pink, friendly, well-meaning but highly-stupid (though he did attend a community college, but it is well known you don't have to be smart to get into one of those) starfish with good intentions. Actual starfishes are said to lack brains, and Patrick lives up to that image.

Despite his stupidity, Patrick says bizarre, yet brilliant things from time to time. However, his friend SpongeBob is convinced he is a genius. He is SpongeBob's best friend and has quite a lot of things in common with him. Spongebob, is also an invertebrate. One of his most famous things to do is to walk into the Krusty Krab with his excellent catch phrase of "Good morning, Krusty Crew!". Patrick cooks up crazy ideas that often get SpongeBob and himself into a mess of trouble such as alien hunting, acting as adults with sideburns and not as babies in front of SpongeBob's Grandma, sneaking into Sandy's Treedome in the wintertime, riding on fishing hooks, and many other situations. He fancies himself quite the jellyfisher, and loves many of the same things that Spongebob loves. His one-time goal in life was to defeat the evil monkey-man and save the ninth dimension, but Spongebob convinced him to aim at smaller goals.

Patrick is somewhat jealous of SpongeBob's various awards and once tried to imitate everything he did hoping to get awards for it. Finally, he got an award for doing nothing longer than anyone else, which he was pleased with. Later, we find out Patrick won the Dirty Bubble Challenge many years ago and then he lost the trophy they sent him in Have You Seen This Snail?. Patrick Star, like his pal SpongeBob SquarePants is a big fan of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy. He also has a very good taste in food (especially ice cream), and really loves cheese and riding on fishing hooks. When writing a movie script, he suggested the characters to drink "Cheese Coffee". In an older episode entitled "Hooky", he risked his life for cheese. Arguably, one of the most difficult experiences of Patrick's life was when he had to open a jar in order to copy SpongeBob. He overcame his immense stupidity and was able to pull it off with flying colors thanks to SpongeBob's wise instructions. A simple, but great example of trying again and again until one succeeds. Unfortunately, after his success at jar-opening, he "spiked" the glass jar through the floor in jubilation. He also has an unhealthy obsession with ice cream.

He was said to be born on March 14, 1983. He lives under a rock on 120 Conch Street, two doors down from his best friend. Like most starfish, he sleeps on the ceiling. When he isn't jellyfishing, or adventuring with his friends, he's sleeping in his rock. There are many inconsistencies in the descriptions of his house due to the absurd nature of the cartoon - in one episode is depicted to be nothing but a bed and a chest of drawers, yet in others he appears to have a kitchen and a living room. He really likes balloons and ice cream and is extremely in touch with his inner child, and can get very angry about very silly things. He also wakes up at 3 a.m. to eat Krabby-Patties. Patrick once got a job working at the Chum Bucket when Plankton was searching for a tough competitor for the Krusty Krab in the Olympic-esque Fry Cook Games. The audience was at first fooled into thinking an enourmas pink championship wrestler fish would be the competitor, when in reality he was only carrying the real contestant, Patrick Star.

In the early episodes, Patrick simply wears his trunks to bed. Later on he appears in a pajama outfit. In the newer episodes, including the one that showed his 3 a.m. eating habit, he is seen wearing briefs to bed, just like his friend SpongeBob. Patrick is arguably one of the most popular and greatest characters on the show, due to his hilarious character and tendency towards acting before he thinks, which isn't very often.

He appears in Lights, Camera, PANTS!. He now owns a lemonade stand and gives SpongeBob a HUGE cup. His roles in the episode of "The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy" are Barnacle Boy and Sneaky Hermit.

SpongeBob SquarePants is the principal character in the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants, which first aired in July 1999 on Nickelodeon. The character was designed by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg, and is voiced by Tom Kenny.

SpongeBob SquarePants Appearance
SpongeBob is an anthropomorphic, yellow, porous, sponge with a face. He has disproportionally thin and short extremities extending from his body (arms and legs), and resembles a kitchen sponge more than a sea sponge. SpongeBob has the ability to transform into other shapes at will, absorb physical blows as well as large amounts of water, and reassemble pieces which fall off of him. His arms can become variable in length and shape at will, are retractable, and can be re-grown at will. He has six long black wiry eyelashes, and his eyes have sky-blue irises with very dilated pupils. Like the rest of SpongeBob's body (excluding his eyes, mouth and brain), his hands and feet are made of sponge.

General SpongeBob SquarePants info
SpongeBob SquarePants is extremely sweet, generous, friendly, and most of all, trusting. He has a buck-toothed grin, tremendously expressive face and square body that complement his pure and good nature. SpongeBob SquarePants will rarely knowingly do wrong or harm to anyone and never without remorse. However, he has been known to shout and curse (even "obscenities") when angry or frustrated. He dislikes scary things and stinky things. Although he is an adult, he has a very childish nature.

Although a good-natured and loving sponge, many characters seem to avoid him. SpongeBob SquarePants is very easily overexcited about almost everything, like many different or simple/regular tasks, or even things he doesn't know what they mean (like when Squidward invited him to a strike, SpongeBob celebrated for it although he never heard the word before). This, along with his repetitive talking and loud dolphin-like laughter makes him a huge annoyance to others, especially Mrs. Puff and Squidward Tentacles.

Although malleable, SpongeBob's body is generally incredibly weak. He has been known to have enormous difficulty lifting even the lightest of objects. Normally though he can function at a reasonable level. SpongeBob's insides and skeleton have been shown various times (eg. when he appears 'dead' in some future 'flashbacks'), but every time they appear different. His skeleton varies from a simple spine to a perfect square.

SpongeBob SquarePants has one pet, a snail named Gary (the analogous of a cat on land, it is also thought that a worm is the analogous of a dog on land). Gary's meows are generally understood by most all residents of Bikini Bottom. Gary and SpongeBob live together in a pineapple under the sea.

SpongeBob SquarePants Job and Leisure
SpongeBob has a career as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab restaurant, home of the Krabby Patty. He takes his job very seriously and is very good at it. He was employee of the month over twenty six times, which would mean he has worked there at least two years. Then, in The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, he has had 374 consecutive employee-of-the-month awards, which would mean he has worked there for at least 31 years and 2 months. Because of labor laws, this puts his minimum age around 52 years, 2 months. He works alongside Squidward (much to Squidward's dismay), who manages the cash register for his money obsessed boss, Mr. Eugene Krabs. SpongeBob, in some episodes, seems to have attained a celebrity like status in Bikini Bottom for his masterful fry cooking. In an episode where SpongeBob and Squidward go on strike, he is referred to as a "legend" by a young fry cook who wants to take his job and is asked to sign the young boy’s spatula. In another episode, he is offered a job as Neptune's fry cook, but turns it down because Patrick couldn't come too. And SpongeBob has never been a minute late ever for his job (except in "Hooky" he was two minutes late because he got hooked, and in "Have You Seen This Snail" he was fifteen minutes late because he was so tired from searching for Gary.).

He spends his free time with his friend Patrick Star (a rather dimwitted Starfish), and especially enjoys practicing karate with his other friend Sandy Cheeks (a squirrel from Texas who wears a space suit to breathe underwater), as well as catching jellyfish at Jellyfish Fields. To date, he has caught (and let go) every jellyfish in Bikini Bottom.

SpongeBob SquarePants has yet to keep a boating license (analogous to a driver's license) because he fails every driver's test at Mrs. Puff's Boating School, mainly due to a tendency to become nervous once behind the wheel (he has been shown to know what he's doing everywhere but inside the boat). Despite this, he perpetually and continuously attends boating school in an attempt to get his license (and because he enjoys it), much to the woe and frustration of his boating instructor Mrs. Puff. At one point, Mrs. Puff becomes so frustrated she gives SpongeBob his boating license by allowing him to do "extra credit". She then takes it back realizing how much chaos he could cause with his license.

In several episodes, most SpongeBob SquarePants video games, and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, it is suggested he has brilliant guitar and singing skills. Many times he sings some songs in a different voice, probably by a different voice actor. He also likes to blow bubbles, surf, sun bathe, play the ukulele, watch his favorite TV show, The New Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy and do his job at the Krusty Krab.
